Hurricane Alert – County Notices – September 2019

The following counties that have a scheduled auction on Sept. 3  made an announcement regarding Hurricane Dorian :

Volusia

Please be advised that court facilities throughout the 7th circuit, which includes Volusia County, will be closed on Tuesday (9/3) and Wednesday (9/4). The resumption of court operations on Thursday (9/5) will be determined on a county-by-county basis depending upon the timing/track/intensity of the storm.

Highlands

In anticipation of Hurricane Dorian, the Highlands County Clerk of Courts will be closed on Tuesday, September 3, 2019. We are planning to reopen on Wednesday, September, 4.
As the storm progresses, we may need to make additional schedule changes or office closures. Please check back for further updates throughout the weekend.

Hillsborough

All courts will close on Tuesday, September 3rd for the safety of our employees and the public during Hurricane Dorian. All Clerk’s Offices will be closed for walk-in business. We plan to have our call center agents available on Tuesday during normal business hours to take your calls to (813) 276-8100. Jurors who were asked to report for jury duty on September 3rd do not need to report; they will be re-summoned for a later jury duty date. As the hurricane progresses, we will be updating you on closures and other important information regarding Clerk services. We expect that our website will continue to be operational throughout any closures and that it will continue to provide 24/7 online self-services. This week’s tax deed auctions are canceled.

Miami Dade

Due to Hurricane Dorian, the Miami-Dade Courts and clerk’s offices will remain closed until further notice visits their website http://www.miami-dadeclerk.com/

Marion

Due to the expected path of Hurricane Dorian, the Clerk’s Office will be closed on Tuesday, September 3rd and Wednesday, September 4th.  Updates will be posted as possible.

Palm Beach

The Clerk & Comptroller’s offices will be closed on Tuesday, September 3, due to the impact of Hurricane Dorian. This decision is consistent with the decision to close Palm Beach County schools and the 15th Judicial Circuit closing court on Tuesday.

Pinellas

Office Update: Given Hurricane Dorian’s projected path, all Clerk’s office locations will be open on Tuesday, September 3.

Polk

Due to Hurricane Dorian, our offices are closed Tuesday, Sept. 3. At this time we expect to reopen on Wednesday, Sept. 4. Updates will be posted here, on our Facebook and Twitter pages, and on a recorded line. Customers can call for recorded updates at 863-534-4000. Jurors summoned on Tuesday, Sept. 3 are needed Thursday, Sept. 5. Please check your jury number on our Juror Information page.

Sarasota

The Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller, in partnership with Sarasota County Government, Emergency Services, and local organizations, is actively planning for Hurricane Dorian’s potential impact.

Your Clerk and Comptroller are dedicated to continuing to provide the products, services, and resources that you have come to expect. For this reason, the staff is working diligently to protect records, prevent impacts to technologies, adjust workflows, and enact contingency plans for court-related activities.

We will be closed, as scheduled, on Monday, September 2nd for Labor Day, reopening Tuesday, September 3rd at 8:30 a.m. for normal business.
